SynQor Named as Finalist in 2001 EDN Innovation of the Year Award
Hudson, Mass - SynQor has been selected from a field of hundreds of candidates as a finalist in EDN's 12th Annual Innovation of the Year Awards Competition. This exclusive awards program, sponsored by EDN Magazine, is dedicated to honoring truly outstanding engineering products in the electronics industry.
Products and technologies qualifying for a 2001 Innovation award must have been introduced and commercially marketed from January 1, 2001 through December 31, 2001. Sixteen major product/technology areas were eligible for consideration. A panel of EDN's technical editors selected 2-3 finalist products in each category. SynQor had its 40 amp PowerQor Tera Quarter-brick series of DC-DC converters selected as one of two finalists in the power sources category.
SynQor's Tera Quarter-brick DC-DC converter module was selected based on its leading edge design, which allows much higher efficiency and greater output current at low voltages. The PowerQor converters represent a new generation of smaller, lighter and more efficient converters that operate without a heat sink. The Tera Quarter-brick series marks the third consecutive year that a SynQor product has been nominated as a Finalist in the EDN Innovation Awards.
Winners of the 12th Annual Innovation of the Year Awards will be chosen by EDN's worldwide readers through an online ballot at the EDN Access web site (www.ednmag.com). We encourage you to visit the site and review the magazine's comments on the 40 amp Tera Quarter-brick converters. Winning products will be announced at a black-tie awards banquet on March 12, 2002 and in the March 21, 2002 issue of EDN.
