SynQor Names as Finalist in EDN "Innovation of the Year" Competition
Hudson, Mass - SynQor has been selected from a field of hundreds of candidates as a finalist in EDN's 10th Annual Innovation of the Year Awards Competition. This exclusive awards program, sponsored by EDN Magazine, is dedicated to honoring truly outstanding engineering products in the electronics industry.
Products and technologies qualifying for a 1999 Innovation award must have been introduced and commercially marketed from January 1, 1999 through December 31, 1999. Nine major product/technology areas were eligible for consideration: analog ICs and discrete semiconductors; components, hardware and interconnects; computers and peripherals; digital ICs; EDA tools; embedded computing; microprocessors; power sources; and test and measurement. A panel of EDN's technical editors selected finalist products in each category. SynQor had its PowerQor series of DC-DC converters selected in the power sources category.
SynQor's PowerQor DC-DC converter module was selected based on its revolutionary design, which allows much higher efficiency and higher power density. The PowerQor converter represents a new generation of smaller, lighter and more efficient converters that operate without a heat sink. Responding to emerging trends, SynQor developed the PowerQor converter, which permits a lower profile, more useable power and a simplified construction technique that increases reliability while reducing costs. The PowerQor module was SynQor's first product introduction for the rapidly growing firm based in Hudson, MA.
Winners of the 10th Annual
Innovation of the Year Awards will be chosen by EDN's
worldwide readers through an online ballot at the
EDN Access web site (www.ednmag.com).
We encourage you to visit the site and review the
