53V Output Converter from SynQor ideally suited for PoE and VoIP Applications
Unit delivers 400W of power in a Half Brick Package
Boxborough, Mass. - Sep 27th 2005 - With today's announcement of a 53V, 7.6A output half brick DC-DC converter, SynQor sets a new performance standard for powering IEEE 802.3af compliant Power Over LAN and VoIP applications.
The PQ5553HEA08 (open frame version) and PQ5553HEB08 (base-plated version) converters use synchronous rectification and SynQor's patented topology to achieve extremely high efficiencies, low power dissipation and high reliability, in a single board, open-frame or base-plated package.
With an optimized input voltage range of 38-55V, and operating at an exceptional 95% efficiency, the open frame device can supply up to 265W at 55°C ambient with just 200LFM (1m/s) of forced air-cooling. For those applications requiring even more output power, the base-plated option allows the addition of a heatsink to increase the available power to the full 360W rating.
In keeping with the requirements of IEEE 802.3af, the device has a basic isolation level from input to output of 2250Vdc, and the design has been optimized to minimize common mode noise. The wide trim range of -50% to +5% adds additional flexibility for the user to adjust to their desired output voltage. Other control and protection features include remote sense, input UVLO, output OVP, current limit, short circuit, and thermal shutdown.
Sample and production quantities are available immediately with a stock to 8-week lead-time. The modules are priced at $97.00 in OEM quantities for the open frame version. For additional information, please contact your local SynQor representative, or visit us at http://www.synqor.com/
