SynQor introduces High Current Quarter-brick DC-DC Converters

Delivers up to 60A or 150W in standard quarter-brick package

Boxborough, Mass SynQor, Inc. has announced a new line of high current, high efficiency quarter-brick DC-DC converters to support leading edge power designs. The PowerQor Peta series can deliver up to 60 amps of output current in a single board, open frame package. The Peta series converters use synchronous rectification and SynQor抯 patented topology to achieve extremely high efficiency, low power dissipation and greater reliability.

The 3.3Vout module is the first introduction in this family, offering a full load efficiency of 90% at 45A (150W). Other output voltages of 1.0V (60A) 1.2V (60A), 1.5V (60A) and 1.8V (60A) will quickly follow. All units operate from a standard 48V input (35V to 75V) and employ the established industry standard quarter-brick footprint, measuring 1.45 x 2.3 x 0.45, (61 x 58.4 x 11.4mm). Control and protection features include, remote sense, voltage trim, input UVLO, output OVP, current limit, short circuit, and thermal shutdown.

The 60A Peta series extends SynQor抯 award-winning line of Kilo, Mega, Giga and Tera half-brick, quarter-brick and eighth-brick modules to offer the most extensive choice of high-efficiency converters from 15A-100A to suit any power application. The high current Peta quarter-brick modules are ideal for telecom and datacom applications using distributed power architectures.

Sample and production quantities of the 3.3V converters are available immediately with a stock to 8 week lead time. Additional output voltages of 1.0V, 1.2V, 1.5V and 1.8V will be available in Q3 2004.
