SynQor introduces 2.5V and 3.3V Half-brick DC-DC Converters up to 80 Amps
Boxborough, MA– SynQor has announced the release of two high efficiency DC-DC converters ideally suited for current hungry networking and telecom applications. The standard half-brick modules are part of the PowerQor™ Peta series and are capable of delivering up to 80 amps at 2.5V and 70 amps at 3.3V. The open frame converters employ synchronous rectification and a single board design, providing superior thermal performance and a full load efficiency over 90 percent.
The modules are packaged in a standard half-brick footprint of 2.4” x 2.3” x 0.45” (61 x 58.4 x 11.4 mm) and use the industry recognized pin out configuration. The 2.5V output unit delivers 80 Amps of current (200W) while the 3.3V module is rated up to 70 Amps (230W). Additionally, the converter’s output can be trimmed up 10% or down 20%, providing accurate voltage margining and custom outputs. Both units have a standard 35-75V telecom input and are designed with an additional set of output pins to enhance the current carrying capability of the converter and reduce dissipated power delivered to the load board.
The high current Peta half-brick modules are ideal for telecom and datacom applications using distributed power architectures. High-end optical networking equipment such as backbone switches and Petabit routers require high currents and low voltages to power today’s complex electronic circuitry. SynQor is meeting these challenges with increased efficiency, power density and reliability.
All SynQor converters carry a comprehensive set of international safety approvals, including EN60950 and UL/cUL60950. Control and protection features include on/off control, voltage trim, remote sense, input UVL, short circuit, current limit, output OVP, and thermal shutdown.
