SynQor and Lineage Settle Certain Patent Litigation

Boxborough, MA - SynQor announced today that it has entered into a definitive Settlement Agreement to resolve one of two lawsuits between SynQor and Lineage Power Corp., namely Lineage Power Corp. v. SynQor, Inc., Civil Action No.2:08-CV-95-TJW-CE (the '95 Case).  Terms of the settlement are confidential.

This lawsuit was originally brought by Lineage.  At the time of settlement, Lineage was alleging that SynQor has infringed and was continuing to infringe six Lineage patents (U.S. Patents Nos. 6,191,964, Re. 36, 571, 5,036,452, 6,005,773, 6,138,344 and 6,310,301).  Through its own counterclaim, SynQor was alleging that Lineage has infringed and was continuing to infringe three SynQor patents (U.S. Patents Nos. 6,594,159, 6,731,520 and 7,119,524).  Both parties asserted defenses of non-infringement and invalidity.  The '95 Case has now been dismissed with prejudice.

Settlement of the '95 Case does not resolve the separate lawsuit brought by SynQor against Lineage (and other competitors) relating to Intermediate Bus Architecture and Unregulated and Semi-regulated Bus Converters (SynQor, Inc. v. Artesyn Technologies, Inc., et al., Civil Action No. 2:07-CV-497-TJW-CE, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas).  See SynQor Press Releases dated December 22, 2010 and July 13, 2011.

Inquiries concerning the foregoing should be directed to Arthur R. Hofmann, Jr., SynQor's Executive Vice President and General Counsel.
