SynQor Introduces a New Line of High Power Military COTS Half-Bricks

Ultra high power density units at up to 500W and 95% efficiency with built-in current share

Boxborough, MA - SynQor, Inc. announces a new line of Military Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products aimed at applications requiring large amounts of power in limited space.  The MCOTS Zeta line of DC-DC converters is designed to provide isolated dc power for electronics such as power amplifiers, jammers, and systems requiring high power bus voltages.  These converters use SynQor's synchronous rectifier based technology to achieve extremely high efficiencies, up to 95% at full load.  This superior performance allows the unit to provide industry leading output power levels of up to 500W in a standard half-brick package (2.49" x 2.39" x 0.51").  Switching frequency is constant to provide predictable EMI performance and the converters can be paired with SynQor MCOTS EMI filters to meet most requirements of MIL-STD-461.  The MCOTS Zeta series of converters are offered encased for exceptional performance in harsh environments and can provide full output power at case temperatures between -55°C and 100°C.  Input voltage family ranges have been tailored to MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-1275 and include 28 (16V to 40V), 28V (9V to 40V), and 28VE (9V to 70V) with many output voltage offerings between 5V and 50V.  The optional built-in current sharing feature allows for easy paralleling of modules for applications requiring more than 1kW of power or module redundancy with limited external components.

Features include remote on/off control, very wide +10% to -50% output voltage trim range, remote output voltage sense, input under-voltage lockout, output over-voltage protection, and optional current share.  The MCOTS half-brick Zeta series is designed for 2250Vdc and 30MΩ input-to-output isolation, are 6/6 RoHS compliant, and are rated with MTBF values in excess of 1.3M hours at 70°C (MIL-217).

The MCOTS Zeta series of products are available immediately for evaluation and qualification. Production quantities are available with 10 to 12 week lead-times, depending on volumes.
